Sensitive Santa®

Glimcher properties are proud to present Sensitive Santa®, a program designed to allow children with sensory processing disorders to visit Santa in a safe and calm environment. Held on a Sunday morning prior to the malls' opening, with reduced lighting and noise, this event is a joint effort between each mall's staff, Worldwide Photography and local autism societies and organizations.

With approximately one in every 150 children affected by autism spectrum disorder, it can be very difficult for these families to enjoy some of the holiday celebrations and traditions most people take for granted, including simple things like visiting with Santa in a busy shopping center.

First presented in 2008 at Dayton Mall, Sensitive Santa's® was launched as part of the mall's Magical Season of Giving and in support of the Autism Society of Dayton. Glimcher rolled out the annual Sensitive Santa® program to 21 malls across its portfolio in 2010.
