Dick's Sporting Goods Coming to River Malley Mall
Lancaster, OH— May 14, 2010 —Glimcher Realty Trust’s (NYSE: GRT). —
River Valley Mall announced today that Dick’s Sporting Goods will open in the center to offer a new, exciting and more convenient shopping experience by holiday 2010.
The 50,000 ft. location at River Valley Mall will offer a full-line of sporting goods including a broad assortment of brand name sporting goods equipment, apparel, and footwear in a specialty store environment. As of January 30, 2010 Dick's Sporting Goods operated 419 stores in 40 states primarily throughout the eastern half of the U.S. Dick’s sporting goods values their reputation as a highly competitive company that conducts business with uncompromising honesty and integrity.
“We are excited to bring Dick’s Sporting Goods to the Lancaster community.” said Tim Kaylor, General Manager of River Valley Mall. “Interior demolition began last week and construction drawings are underway for the new store.”
The addition of Dick’s Sporting Goods is the third stage of the planned renovation of River Valley Mall. The first stage was the Old Navy opening in July 2009. The second stage is planned mall renovation which includes interior and exterior improvements.
On the interior, the existing floor tiles will be replaced with a mix of hard and soft flooring with seating areas with new furniture; ceilings and walls will be enhanced with accent painting; existing lighting fixtures will be upgraded and all food court furniture will be replaced.
On the exterior, all entrances will be repainted; upgraded with new door units, lighting fixtures and signage; new sidewalk treatments and decorative landscape designs. The parking lots will be enhanced with lamping improvements, pavement seal coating and restriping.
