Glimcher Announces Offering of Common Shares
Columbus, Ohio – January 5, 2011 — Glimcher Realty Trust (NYSE: GRT), —
announced today that it has commenced an offering of approximately 11,000,000 common shares for sale to the public. The Company expects to grant the underwriters an option to purchase up to 15 percent of additional common shares.
The Company intends to use the net proceeds to reduce the outstanding principal amount under its corporate credit facility, which will provide the Company with additional capacity to borrow funds in the future for the acquisition of additional properties, refinancing, redevelopment or development of existing or new properties and for general working capital and other corporate purposes.
Goldman, Sachs & Co. and BofA Merrill Lynch are serving as the joint bookrunning managers for the offering. The common shares will be sold pursuant to a prospectus supplement and accompanying prospectus filed as part of an existing shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Form S-3 that is effective.
